Most people do not know that half of the world’s populations of mountain gorillas call this area home. Mountain gorillas are an endangered species so the population that remains in Uganda is especially important. White water rafting is a favorite activity as well as wildlife viewing at the states national parks. The Nile River goes through the area and guided tours are available. Many areas also offer safaris to take visitors through the nature wonder land. The amount of wildlife available in Uganda is amazing and many of the vacation accommodations are booked by people who want to catch a glimpse of animals such as the mountain gorilla.
