The Haliburton Highlands, Muskoka’s neighbour, is in the heart of Ontario’s cottage country. Its rolling hardwood forests, pristine lakes, meandering rivers and extensive wetlands make it a nature lover’s dream. Its four-season climate means all year recreation. There’s water-skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, boating and canoeing for water enthusiasts. Hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing is at your doorstep with hundreds of kilometers of scenic trails (and some lookout towers too). Sir Sam’s provides family fun for downhill skiing and snowboarding alike. Winter visitors to the region also enjoy snow-mobiling, snow-shoeing, ice-fishing and dogsled tours. Its breathtaking fall foliage makes the area a destination for many tourists. Year-round visitors enjoy the numerous artist and crafters studios and in the fall there’s an Artist Studio Tour celebration. The Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve draws visitors to its Wolf Center, Astronomy Observatory and its famous Walk in the Clouds, (a trek through the canopy of an old-growth pine forest 20 meters from the ground on narrow boards suspended by steel cables.) The Highland Cinemas in Kinmount is Canada’s most unique showplace, part nostalgia, and part museum.
Canadiana Cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage is situated on a fully treed lot on a quiet bay at the north end of Soyers Lake. It is part of a 5-lake chain that offers good fishing and excellent boating.

It features attractive decor that is rustic, homey and comfortable. There is an open concept kitchen, dinning and living area with huge windows overlooking both the lake and the forest. All walls are natural cedar and the floors are pine plank. The ceilings are beamed and vaulted throughout and are also pine plank.	Click on image to enlarge
Click on image to enlarge	There is a gorgeous wood-burning granite fireplace to enjoy a cozy fire on cool nights. A TV and VCR are available for your movie viewing pleasure. There are two walkouts to a deck with a spectacular view of the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and blender. Dishes, silverware and other accessories are new and plentiful. A barbeque is easily accessible on the deck.
Seven people can sleep comfortably in two bedrooms with double beds and another with three twin beds. The bathroom has been completely renovated and includes a new toilet, sink and a roomy shower. Water is drawn from 20 ft. below lake level and is put through a new infra red filtration process to insure that it is perfectly clean.	Click on image to enlarge
Click on image to enlarge	Stairs lead from the deck to the waterfront that includes a 16- foot dock with swim ladder and deep water for excellent diving and swimming. We have a beach, a rare commodity in this area! The shallow water is suitable for small children. A "Swift" canoe, complete with lifejackets and paddles is available for your use. This is pure Canadiana cottaging at it's best - and it is very reasonably priced! Inquire immediately for available dates.
